Appwrite handles sign-in, email confirmation and password recovery. Passwords are not stored in Juezi. Secure HttpOnly cookies retain sessions.

Private submissions and review

Cloudflare D1 stores applications, the two manuscripts and contribution evidence. Applicants may access their own materials. The administrator holds the named manuscript separately and can issue expiring private invitations that grant access only to the checked anonymous manuscript. Reviewers cannot see the author profile, named file or private evidence. Review reports are held by the editor; identities are not shown to authors. Invitations can be revoked. File anonymization requires the author’s preparation and editor’s check; the system cannot guarantee that an uploaded manuscript contains no identifying text or metadata.

Personal decision emails

The administrator sends review decisions personally using their existing email service. Juezi prepares a letter and records the administrator’s confirmation of sending. Opening a compose window is not recorded as a sent email. No transactional review-email provider or automated review sending is required. Registration confirmation emails remain managed by Appwrite.

Public papers

Only the administrator can upload the final archive PDF and explicitly publish it. Published metadata and PDFs are accessible to everyone and search engines. Private submission files are never automatically made public.
